We have been inundated with stallions. We currently have 3 here that need to be gelded and there are several waiting in the wings. In addition to that, we have wanted to help out with a gelding fund for individuals who cannot afford to have their stallions gelded. Our approach to this is going to be two fold.
We are looking for a volunteers to work on this program. They will contact Central Virginia vets to see if we can work out a cost saving plan, develop an application and guidelines for the grant. We are going to start a fundraising drive for our gelding fund. This is a huge need in this area where young horses are priced for less than the cost of gelding.
We are also starting a fundraising drive to fund the program. We have gotten a quote for some small but adorable incentives for donations. These are quick mock ups of the Horse stress balls.
