Today, two needy horses arrived to CVHR. These two underweight mares were surrendered to the rescue when the owner realized they needed help. We are thankful that they asked for help and were willing to let us take these beauties in for rehabilitation.
Cheyenne is a 13 year old grey Arabian mare and Lakota is a 19 year old black Quarter Horse mare. Both of them are skinny and will require special care in order to recover. They’ll need their teeth floated, coggins pulled, deworming, and plenty of grain and hay during their rehabilitation. We expect this to cost starting at $200-300 for vet expenses plus the cost of feed. Donations to help these two mares (or any of the horses!) would be greatly appreciated by us and the horses.
